Eligibility Criteria

You may be eligible if you:

Are applying to a Taught Postgraduate (Masters or PG Diploma) course at Strathclyde (excluding the MBA), and:

  • Have not already completed a postgraduate course in the UK (except PGDE)

  • Have a Home or UK fee status (England, Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Republic of Ireland)

And fall under one of the following categories:

1. Recent Graduates (within last 3 academic years):

  • Received a SAAS Care Experienced Bursary, Young Student Bursary, or were funded as Independent/Estranged students

  • Received funding from Student Finance (England, Wales, NI) based on a household income of £34,999 or less

  • Are currently receiving means-tested or disability-related benefits

2. Returning Students (completed undergrad more than 3 years ago):

  • Are currently receiving means-tested or disability-related benefits

  • Earned less than £33,999 in the previous tax year (evidenced by a P60 or HMRC self-assessment)

Benefits

  • Award amount: £3,000 (Full-time), or £1,500/year (Part-time for two years)

  • Duration: Covers one academic year for full-time study and two years for part-time study

  • Additional discretionary amount: Panel may award an extra £1,000 for students in particularly vulnerable situations
