Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be domiciled in Africa, India, or one of the selected Commonwealth countries (see full list below).

  • Be classed as an overseas student for fee purposes.

  • Hold an offer to begin a full-time master’s (including MRes) for the 2025/26 academic year at the University of Nottingham.

  • Apply for a program within the following faculties:

    • Faculty of Engineering

    • Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences

    • Faculty of Science

    • Faculty of Social Sciences

You are not eligible if:

  • You are currently studying in the UK.

  • You have studied or received a degree outside your home country (case-by-case exceptions apply).

  • You are a current student or graduate of the University of Nottingham.

All African nations and the following Commonwealth countries: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Brunei, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Falkland Islands, Fiji, Gibraltar, Grenada, Guyana, India, Jamaica, Kiribati, Malaysia, Maldives, Montserrat, Nauru, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Pitcairn Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, St Helena, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tristan da Cunha, Turks and Caicos Islands, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.

Benefits

  • Covers 50% or 100% of tuition fees for one academic year.

  • Not applicable to the second year of a two-year master’s course.

  • Scholarships are applied directly to tuition – not paid to students.

  • Cannot be combined with other University of Nottingham scholarships; only the highest-value award will be applied.

    First, apply and receive an offer to study a full-time master’s or MRes program for the 2025/2026 academic year.

  2. Pay Application Fee
    Your academic application will not be reviewed until the application fee is paid and processed.

  3. Submit Scholarship Application
