One of the studentships will specifically support a PhD Film by Practice.

Eligibility Criteria

There are two studentships with distinct requirements:

1. PhD Film by Practice

• Significant filmmaking experience required.

• A good undergraduate degree (minimum 2:1 or international equivalent) in a relevant subject.

• A postgraduate degree in filmmaking or screenwriting (completed or in progress).

2. PhD in Communications, Drama and Film

• A good undergraduate degree (minimum 2:1 or international equivalent) in a relevant humanities field.

• A Master’s degree (Merit level or international equivalent) in a relevant discipline.

• Open to interdisciplinary research and projects related to cultures of the Global South.

• Not open to film practice applicants.

Language Requirement: If English is not your first language, you must provide proof of English language proficiency.
