Eligibility Criteria

To apply, you must:

1. Gender Requirement

  • Be a woman

2. Meet at Least One of the Following:

  • Live in a neighbourhood with a low progression rate to Higher Education POLAR4 or TUNDRA quintile 1 or 2 England only

  • Be from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) background

  • Have declared a physical/mental health condition, long-term illness, or learning difference on your UCAS application

UCAS data will be used for verification

Benefits

Total Award:

£4,000 per student maximum three years

Payment Structure Year 1 example:

  • £335 (25%) – by end November 2026

  • £335 (25%) – by end February 2027

  • £665 (50%) – by end May 2027

The award continues annually up to three years, subject to academic progression.

The scholarship is awarded as cash payments.

Application Process

  1. Apply for an eligible undergraduate course.

  2. Choose Northumbria as your firm choice by 30 June 2026.

  3. Complete the online scholarship application.

  4. Submit a written response maximum 3,000 characters / 500 words answering:

    How will this Award support your aspirations to succeed in Higher Education?

  5. Submit before 16:00 on Friday 03 July 2026.

Selection is competitive and based on the quality, clarity, and impact of your written response. Final recipients are selected by Rolton.
