University of Newcastle is pleased to announce the availability of the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships (VCES) for outstanding international applicants wishing to commence full-time Master’s studies.
Newcastle University has a storied past that traces its roots to the 1800s. Its inception can be traced back to the establishment of a School of Medicine and Surgery in 1834, established to address the surging need for healthcare practitioners amid the Industrial Revolution. As time progressed, the institution grew, incorporating a College of Physical Science in 1871, serving key sectors such as shipbuilding and mining. Through a series of mergers and rebrandings, it transformed into the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1963.
