The Social Responsibility Scholarships are designed to encourage and reward students who demonstrate a strong commitment to social responsibility alongside their academic achievements. In 2024, five scholarships will be awarded to UK students and three to international/EU students, each valued at £2,000 per year for three years of undergraduate study. These scholarships aim to nurture future leaders who are not only academically brilliant but also dedicated to making a positive impact on society.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Social Responsibility Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Academic Achievement: Achieve AAA at A-level or an equivalent qualification.
- Social Responsibility Commitment: Demonstrate significant contributions to social responsibility through community-based projects, volunteering, or fundraising activities.
- Additional Consideration: Applicants exceeding AAA or holding supplementary qualifications like an EPQ will receive extra consideration.
For international students, one scholarship is specifically reserved for those who have completed an international foundation year at an approved provider before starting their studies at Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) in September 2024.
Benefits
- Award Amount: £2,000 per year for three years (not applicable during placement or exchange years).
- Special Provision: For students in the PwC Flying Start Business Accounting degree, the scholarship is £1,500 annually for four years.
- Mentorship: Scholarship winners will receive mentorship from the AMBS Social Responsibility committee.
- Student Champion: Recipients will be encouraged to become AMBS SR Student Champions and engage with the SR committee annually.
