University of Leeds Global Community Bursary

The University of Leeds Business School is happy to announce the Global Community Bursary for the academic year 2025/2026. This bursary aims to support particularly deserving international applicants (including EU) from low-income countries or low-income households in underrepresented regions, who are applying for eligible Business School Masters programmes (excluding the MSc Sustainable Business Leadership [online], Executive Leadership Level 7 Apprenticeship/MSc, and the Leeds MBA).

Background

The Global Community Bursary is a merit- and need-based scholarship that supports international students applying to select Business School Master’s programmes for the 2025/26 academic year. It provides a £10,000 bursary to cover living expenses during your studies and is aimed at students from low-income countries or households who have demonstrated both academic excellence and a commitment to making a difference in their communities.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the bursary, applicants must:

• Be classified as an international student for fee purposes

• Apply and hold an offer for an eligible Business School Master’s programme for 2025/2026 entry (excluding MSc Sustainable Business Leadership [online], Level 7 Apprenticeship/MSc, and The Leeds MBA)

• Come from a low-income country or belong to a low-income household in an underrepresented country

• Demonstrate a strong academic background (2:1 Honours or equivalent in a Bachelor’s degree)

• Be unable to fund cost of living through any other scholarship or bursary

• Show how their life experiences have shaped their goals and impact

• Clearly articulate how the Master’s programme will help them achieve their career objectives

Application Process

1. Apply for an Eligible Course
   Submit your application for an eligible Master’s programme at the Business School before 20th June 2025.

2. Automatic Initial Consideration
   If you meet the basic criteria, you’ll be automatically considered for the bursary when your application is reviewed.

3. Invitation to Final Stage
   Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a separate bursary application detailing:

   • Financial circumstances

   • Household background

   • Career goals

   • Community impact aspirations

4. Final Decision

   • You’ll have 4 weeks to submit the application after being invited.

   • Final decisions will be communicated within 4 weeks of submission.
